Technical issues might differ in their origin, for this reason please make sure that you meet the following criteria:

  1. Verify file integrity via Steam 

  2. Check if the hard drive where Dune: Awakening is installed is not full

  3. Check if there are no CPU/GPU heavy application is running in the background
  4. GPU Drivers are up-to-date (AMD / nVidia / intel)

  5. Windows is running the latest version (How-to update Windows 10/11)

  6. Clear Shader Cache by followiing the steps below:

    • nVidia
      1. Open the NVIDIA App
      2. Go to Graphics
      3. Set Shader Cache Size to Disabled.
      4. Close the NVIDIA App
      5. Reboot your PC.
      6. After the PC boots, Start the "Run" tool with Clicking "Win + R"
      7. Type the following environment variable into the Run dialog box or the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter: "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache"
      8. Delete all the items in the folders.
      9.  Exit File Explorer.
      10. Now, go back to the NVIDIA App and Set the Shader Cache Size to 10 GB or larger
      11. Restart your PC.

    • AMD 
      1. Open the AMD Software
      2. Go to Settings -> Graphics
      3. Expand the "Advanced" section and click the "Perform Reset" button next to Reset Shader Cache
      4. Close the AMD Software
      5. Reboot your PC.
