Technical issues might differ in their origin, for this reason please make sure that you meet the following criteria:
- Verify file integrity via Steam
- Check if the hard drive where Dune: Awakening is installed is not full
- Check if there are no CPU/GPU heavy application is running in the background
Windows is running the latest version (How-to update Windows 10/11)
- Clear Shader Cache by followiing the steps below:
- nVidia
- Open the NVIDIA App
- Go to Graphics
- Set Shader Cache Size to Disabled.
- Close the NVIDIA App
- Reboot your PC.
- After the PC boots, Start the "Run" tool with Clicking "Win + R"
- Type the following environment variable into the Run dialog box or the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter: "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache"
- Delete all the items in the folders.
- Exit File Explorer.
- Now, go back to the NVIDIA App and Set the Shader Cache Size to 10 GB or larger
- Restart your PC.
- AMD
- Open the AMD Software
- Go to Settings -> Graphics
- Expand the "Advanced" section and click the "Perform Reset" button next to Reset Shader Cache
- Close the AMD Software
- Reboot your PC.
- nVidia
