If your game freezes for an extended period of time, make sure you always wait 30-60 seconds so that the crash reporting has enough time to prepare a report and send it back to Funcom.  This is the only way for us to see the issue and prepare a fix.

If the freeze does not resolve after 60 seconds, it may be caused by an issue with your drivers, Windows, or your hardware.  Here are some recommended steps if this happens frequently:

  1. For NVidia GPUs,  driver version 576.52 has caused hard locks for some users in several games.  Please upgrade to version 576.66: Here

  2. If you have Windows 11 with update 24H2, make sure you have KB5058499 (OS Build 26100.4202) installed. It improves the stability of the system in CPU-intensive applications like games.  If this doesn’t resolve the problem, please try rolling back to Windows 11 23H2.  You can find instructions on how to roll back a Windows update:  In this Microsoft article

  3. Try disabling the "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling".

You can do this on Windows in System > Display > Graphics > Advanced graphics settings > Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.

  4. In-game, you can turn on "Limit Process CPU Usage"  setting. This setting reserves one CPU core for other tasks, which should prevent a full system freeze.
    • You can enable it in-game in Settings and under Graphics and scroll down to "Limit process CPU usage (experimental)".  This will impact client performance but should significantly improve the stability of your system.

  5.  If you overclock your PC, please try reverting to the manufacturer default settings and ensure your PSU wattage fulfills the requirements of your system.
