In case the game freezes or crashes on start-up and you are not able to set the "Limit process CPU usage mode" through the in-game menu, you can still do it manually.

  1. Find the game user settings in your user directory:
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\DuneSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Game.ini

  2. Edit the file. Find section: [Settings.Video]and the configuration entry called: LimitProcessCpuUsage=1
    • If it is not there, feel free to add it. Otherwise ensure that value is set to 1.

  3. Save changes in the text file. The game will apply the CPU limiter mode on startup. This will impact client performance but should significantly improve the stability of your system.

Some systems with 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs may get an "Out of memory" error while the game is compiling shaders on startup.

For players with these specific generations of Intel CPUs, we suggest a BIOS update. At minimum your BIOS microcode should be 0x12B and ideally 0x12F.
