What is the Dune: Awakening Public Test Client?

The Dune: Awakening Public Test Client is a separate version of the game where players can test upcoming features, patches, and content before they are released to the live version. It’s designed to help developers gather feedback, identify bugs, and make balance adjustments with the help of the community.

How do I access the Dune: Awakening Public Test Client?

If you own Dune: Awakening you will have access to the Public Test Client app through Steam, and it can be installed by following these steps:

  1. Open the Library tab in your Steam client.

  2. Search for Dune: Awakening Public Test Client in the search box at the top of your game list on the left.

  3. Select it and click Install, as you would with any other game.

  4. Once installed, you can test the game by launching the Dune: Awakening Public Test Client.

Who has access to the Dune: Awakening Public Test Client?

The Dune: Awakening Public Test Client is open to players who own the game. However, currently it's available on North America and Europe only.

Will the public test client be persistent or time limited?

We will leave this client and servers open for a week or two until the patch is ready to go live. Player progress made during the PTC will be saved.

The Public Test Client contains experimental builds that include upcoming:

  • Gameplay changes
  • New features or items
  • Balance passes
  • Bug fixes
  • Technical improvements

These builds are often unstable and not final, and they may differ from what eventually goes live.

Can I report bugs that I find in public test client?

Yes, and it’s highly encouraged. Our current dedicated channel for now it's the in-game Bug report button.

You can also leave your feedback on our Discord and on Steam discussion boards.

The PTC is less stable than the live game. This is part of the testing process. Expect a rougher experience, but your feedback helps improve the final release.
